With a big (read: indulgent) trip to Cyprus coming up, we figured this week’s (and probably next week’s!) date night should be a little healthier. So we dusted off the bikes and cycled up to Seletar Aerospace Park — a peaceful gem tucked away in the north of Singapore that feels worlds away from the city’s buzz. Once a British military airbase, its colonial-style black-and-white houses now play host to a growing mix of cafés and restaurants. Brewerkz has recently joined the lineup, and although it’s famous for its craft beer… we stayed strong. No booze this time (Cyprus prep!) — just a ride, a meal and some surprisingly good non-alcoholic drinks.

What?
Having only done an active date night two weeks ago (see Date Night #18: Taking the scenic route to 99 Buona Vista Kitchen), I felt extra smug about getting another one in so soon! We set off just before sunset, cycling along the park connector network with the breeze in our hair and plenty of banter along the way.
The Oval — a cluster of heritage bungalows—has been beautifully repurposed into a dining enclave. With leafy streets, colonial charm, and the occasional low-flying plane gliding overhead, it’s got a quiet, timeless feel that makes you forget you’re still in Singapore.
Brewerkz fits right in with the relaxed vibes. It felt a bit weird to be at a place so known for beer and not order one, but we were pleasantly surprised by their non-alcoholic options. I had a freshly pressed juice (pineapple, honey, apple and lemon—tangy and refreshing), while my husband went for a lychee mint sparkling fizz, one of their zero-alcohol draft creations.
Food-wise, the tortilla chips and beer chilli bowl made the restraint a little easier. I also ordered a salad to balance things out. My husband went for the jambalaya, which came in a rich, spicy sauce… and basically had an entire roast chicken plonked on top.
A little indulgence, a little virtue — just the way we like it. After dinner, we hopped back on our bikes and pedalled home under the darkening sky, making it back just in time to kiss the kids goodnight. Easy peasy and feel-good all around.
WOW tips:
- Try an active twist on your date — cycling adds a whole new dimension.
- Head there in the early evening for cooler temps and golden-hour skies.
- Don’t skip the non-alcoholic drinks — even at Brewerkz, they’ve got decent options.
- Or go for the delicious beers – why not? Treat yourself!

Worth it?
For sure! The cycling made dinner feel even more rewarding, and it was strangely satisfying to go to Brewerkz and not order a pint. I felt like we’d earned our meal—and our smugness.
8/10 for a night that was healthy, happy and still had plenty of flavour.
