We’ve had a busy start to the week and felt like we hadn’t seen much of each other, so a date night was much needed. On top of that, we wanted to try something new — recommended by friends — the Nowhere Baths in Dempsey. Naturally, we needed somewhere to eat nearby, so we thought we’d try a new one for us – RedDot BrewHouse —and we were glad we did.
Where?
📍 RedDot BrewHouse @ Dempsey Hill (25A Dempsey Road)
📍 Nowhere Baths, also in Dempsey (14A Dempsey Road)
What?
Reddot Brewhouse, Dempsey, is a big, open, yet covered space that somehow feels miles from the city. The lush greenery and open-air seating give it a jungle vibe, perfect for a relaxed evening. We stumbled across their Oktoberfest special and turned our date into a mini Oktoberfest celebration! I went for the summer ale, smoky and rich, while he chose the cream ale, clean and refreshing—almost lager-like. Both were excellent. We ordered mini pretzels, currywurst and chips. Simple, classic Oktoberfest fare, and completely satisfying. And of course, we couldn’t resist a bonus Weizen beer, with vanilla, clove and banana notes. Dessert in a glass, but surprisingly good!
Then it was on to Nowhere Baths—an experience that felt completely different from anything we’d done before on a date night. For $55 per person, you get two hours of access to hot baths, cold plunge pools, a sauna, steam rooms and an outdoor decking relaxation area. Everything is unisex — the baths, the changing rooms, even the toilets—so it’s designed to feel communal yet still private and calm.
No cameras are allowed inside (sorry, no sneaky photos!), which actually added to the atmosphere—it was nice to be fully present rather than worrying about capturing it. On arrival, the friendly staff gave us a tour, explained the flow, and then left us to it. Towels were provided, and the whole place was spotless, spa-scented and tranquil. Even the quirky “spinny changing rooms” made the start of the visit feel fun and unusual.
The idea is to alternate between hot and cold, which sounds simple enough… until you actually get into the cold plunge pool. It was brutal—pins and needles shooting up my legs, and I only lasted a few seconds at a time. The hot baths, sauna, and steam rooms, on the other hand, were bliss: spacious, beautifully kept, and the kind of heat that makes your muscles feel like they’re melting in the best way possible.
One challenge? Silence. Inside the spa itself, no talking is allowed (strictly enforced—we got told off when I forgot and tried to chat). You’re only allowed to talk in the outdoor deck area. For me, that was tricky—I found myself itching to talk to my husband, so being shushed felt a little unnatural. That said, the quiet does create a deeper sense of calm, especially if you lean into it.
At the end of the session, the showers were a dream—luxury toiletries, powerful water pressure, and everything provided. There are also taster hair oils and facial oils to try, which was a lovely unexpected touch. Finally, we wrapped up with tea in the relaxation lounge, where you can linger beyond your two-hour slot.
By the end, I felt relaxed, cleansed, and honestly a little sleepy. Personally, I got a bit bored (I’m just not built for enforced silence!), but the atmosphere, setting and sheer attention to detail make Nowhere Baths a great option if you’re after a peaceful, restorative experience. Their tagline says it all: “Thanks for going Nowhere with us.”

Worth it?
7/10.
Reddot was a fun find and perfect for a casual Oktoberfest-themed evening – good beer and a cosy outdoor setting. Nowhere Baths was calm and luxurious and simply beautiful, though maybe not my perfect date night since I like a chat. Still, the combination made for a unique, refreshing evening.
What HE said
“RedDot was a nice surprise. Seems like a fun venue with nice beer. I need to go back to try more of the food before we can decide if it’s any good. Nowhere Baths was good too. Whilst I liked it, and can see why other people would love it, I get bored easily, and so I’m not sure it’s a date spot I’d return to often.”

Wrap-Up
Date Night #34 was all about trying something new and unwinding together. From beers and pretzels at Reddot Brewhouse to bubbles, steam and silence at Nowhere Baths, it was a refreshing break from routine. Not the most chatty of nights, but sometimes a date that lets you relax and just be together is exactly what you need. We left feeling calm, slightly tipsy and already planning our next Dempsey adventure.
